Notice of Election and Annual Meeting
The Board of Directors election will be held electronically from Sunday, March 1, through Monday, March 23. Voting instructions will be available starting Sunday, March 1. To be eligible to vote you must be at least 18 years old, and a primary member with a regular share account. Only one vote is allowed per SSN and ITIN. There are three positions open with four candidates put forth. All positions hold a three year term.
Members may petition to be considered for a vacancy on the Board of Directors. Nominations for vacancies made by petition, must be signed by at least 208 members. To be effective such nominations shall be accompanied by a certificate from the nominee stating that they are agreeable to the placing of their name in nomination and will serve if elected to office. Petition nominations shall be filed with the Secretary of the Credit Union by Friday, February 27. Connections Credit Union will post such nominations in a conspicuous place in each Credit Union office at least by Friday, February 27.
The Board has set Wednesday, March 25, 2026, as the date of the Credit Union’s 89th Annual Meeting. The annual meeting will be held virtually starting at 6:00pm.
A registration link will be provided and emailed to all members in advance of the annual meeting.
Board of Director Candidates
Brad Nelson
Brad currently serves on the Board of Directors as the Board Secretary and has been a member of Connections Credit Union for over 40 years. He opened his first savings account with his allowance money at age 8, and has been a member ever since. Since 2002, Brad has been employed by North Wind Group as a Business/Finance Manager. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Idaho State University in 1999, and an MBA from ISU in 2007. He has been married to his wife Karri for over 30 years, and they have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. He would like to continue serving the members of Connections Credit Union on the Board of Directors and utilize his professional and academic financial experience to benefit the Credit Union and its members.
Juan Juarez
My name is Juan Juarez. I was born and raised in Rupert, Idaho. I hold a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Idaho and currently serve as General Manager at Southwind by Wilcox in Heyburn, Idaho. The company specializes in growing and shipping gourmet fingerling potatoes. I am responsible for overseeing year-round operations at both the Southwind by Wilcox packing shed and the farm. My career in the agricultural sector began with hands-on work in crop cultivation, where I gained in-depth knowledge of the complexities of agricultural enterprises.
Outside of my professional responsibilities, I enjoy mentoring young farmers, sharing expertise, and promoting a strong sense of community within the industry.
Roger Murphy
I have lived in Boise, Coeur d’ Alene and Pocatello. I graduated from Highland High School in Pocatello (1977). I worked for Ernst Home and Nursery for 15 years. I managed the Plantation Store in Boise from 1983-1984 and the Pocatello Store from 1984-1989. I attended Idaho State University from 1989-1994 obtaining my Doctor of Pharmacy degree. I was employed as a pharmacist at Ed Snell’s Pharmacy Shop in Pocatello for 26 years since my graduation from ISU and retired in 2020. I have held the position of Board member and Board Chairman at Connections Credit Union for multiple years. In May 2016, I received the Outstanding Credit Union Volunteer of the year award for Idaho. I have worked as adjunct faculty for the College of Pharmacy at Idaho State and was honored as Preceptor of the Year for the Pocatello area in both 2014 and 2017. DeDe, my wife and I have three children and eleven grandchildren. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities with my family, building fly rods, and volunteering for home improvement projects in my community.
Kacey Jensen
I am a long-time member of Connections Credit Union and am honored to be considered for the Board of Directors. I have served in senior leadership roles, including as a Regional Director for Bish’s RV, one of the largest RV dealerships in the nation, and I am an active real estate investor and developer. Through these experiences, I have gained a strong appreciation for responsible leadership, strategic decision-making, and long-term stewardship. I believe in the credit union mission of putting members first and supporting the communities we serve. If elected, I would be committed to representing member interests and helping guide Connections Credit Union with integrity and care.
